In my last post I shared my Aha moment from a coaching session I had with Leesa Barnes with you. In this post I want to share with you just how much God’s hand has been involved with me in the last few months.

It all started in December when He removed what I call “unnecessary” disturbances. People, places, and things that interfered with the progress He wanted me to make. I did not see it then but I do now. My minister and spiritual mentor, Tony Robinson, shared a scenario with me sometime later that helped me to see why the disturbances had to go.

A Good Pot of Stew

She likened me to a slow cooking crock pot stew that was almost ready. As I was cooking people would come, taste a carrot and see that I was not quite done and decide to open up a can of condensed soup. Canned soup, not being as satisfying as soup would cause them to get hungry sooner than later and they would come back and see if I was ready. Eating a piece of potato, they would see that I was not quite there yet and go back to pantry for something else: Only to return to me again and again to taste and see if I was ready yet.

What they needed to do was just let me cook. That is why God had to remove certain nouns from my life. They were just in the way. This is no offense to anyone.
Something else that Tony said to me was that sometimes nouns are removed because they cannot understand what God is doing with you and the fire underneath you is just too hot for them to handle.

Considering her words today I see the results of certain nouns being removed in one-way or another. The results have been less stress, more time, more valuable connections, and more earning potential. This has helped me to hone in and meeting with Leesa this month was the final ingredient I needed to put the cake in the oven so that it can bake!

Discerning Glimpses

I am even more blessed to meet with another power house this week. I will be chatting it up with Kelly Thore Gore from iBloom and Empowering Christian Coaches this week and that excites me.

You see God puts glimpses of folks I will connect with in my head as I look at pictures and read names. It is a certain spirit of discernment that I do not take lightly and it has never steered me wrong. It is a gift I do not take lightly and I am humbled to be able to truly see folks for who they are. Sometimes I wear blinders and ignore the signs but He simply allows me to learn the lesson.

I already knew that I would be speaking with Kelly and Leesa too. I just had no idea in what capacity it would be. What God is doing with these two ladies is opening up new avenues of opportunities for me. Whether they know if or not, they are vessels in my life right now; as I look up to both of these powerhouses who have strong business models. That is my goal…to build a strong business model.

My momma also told me that you never know who is watching you and having these two women reach out to me tells me a great deal about that truth!

As most of you know I had the honor of being a part of the Naked Faith series over at Leesa Barnes’ blog. It has been an amazing journey and not one that I will soon forget. I was enlightened, encouraged, educated, and elated by the majority of what I read and it helped me to grow in my relationship with God!

On one of Leesa’s posts I asked her about my Brand title “Success Solution Strategist” and she wanted to know who my market was. You would think that I, LaTara Ham-Ying, marketing expert and brand curator would know my market. So I said “work at home women” looking for a deeper Biblical Focus for their business.

Hmmmm…guess what!

Did not work for Leesa! If you know Leesa then you know she gets deeper! I have known her since 2005 through the virtual word and I have always wanted to work with her in some capacity. So when she asked if we could get together by phone so that she could coach me for an hour I jumped at the chance.

I Was Ready For Breakthrough

I had been telling my Executive Assistant that there was something missing. There was something I was  not tapping into! My market needed something more or different from me.

I had been teaching, mentoring, and coaching for so long that I had neglected to experience breakthrough for my life and business. I have known for quite some time that something was missing in my business but I did not get just what the “what was”. This is why I try to motivate others to experience daily breakthrough. I know what it is like to sit on the sidelines cheering when you really want to be in the “breakthrough for me” game.

In less than one hour, Leesa helped me to see who my market was, what their pain was, and how I can help them heal the pain. In one hour I had a plan of action, steps to implement, and ideas galore.

For once in a long time I was excited about where my business was going.

My Aha Moment with Leesa came when she said…

“Don’t discount everything you have done to date. God allowed it for a reason.”

Why was this quote an Aha Moment for me?

Because I have been online since 2004 and back then the systems you had to put in place involved many steps and social media was pretty much by way of The Ryze Network; which made online marketing pretty hard because you were limited to a list and a few other things. Plus there were no experts teaching you how to use WordPress (wordpress was simply a blog platform in 2004). There was no one to show you how to make e-cover graphics (they were nearly unheard of). There was no one talking about many of the privileges we have I the online world today to help our business grow and pop!

I had to learn a lot on my own (read my story) and that is how Io became a source for knowing how to find it fast. Once I saw my way out of being a DIYer for life I ran. But this running also caused me to run from the truth of what my market needs and who my ideal client is.

After 30 minutes with Leesa I realized that what my ideal client needed and how to deliver the goods!

My ideal client struggles with the confidence to get out there and share their message. They struggle with the how to connect, what they need to use, and how to get out there and make that money! Yep, I said it…Make money!

You do what you do because you want to earn an income and I am sure you want to earn an income that will afford you the life you desire to live!

The bottom line of what I bring to my market is….

Simplifying Your Message with Inspiring IMPACT

It is my goal and my purpose to help you learn how to use online tools to connect to your market with your authentic voice in a way that is most comfortable to you! That is simplicity at its best when it comes to business. No Hype! No Hoop Jumping! No Hassel!

Does this mean that I am moving away from mindset coaching? Nope!

Your mind has to be in alignment with your desires and goals for your business. Leaving out the mindset piece would take away your ability to simplify with inspiring impact.

What  I learned from speaking with Leesa is the very thing I cheer to others about:

God has already placed everything I need to succeed on the path I walk everyday! 

Since speaking with Leesa I consider the years of abilities, knowledge, skills that I have attained and nurtured that can be used to help other entrepreneurs find their voice and simplify their message! Just like Ragu “It’s in there”!

I  Forgot to Dream for Myself

As I was speaking with my husband this morning I told him that somewhere I had lost my ability to dream for my business and in doing so I was grasping for straws in all the wrong places.

This grasping cause confusion and trained my market to think “free and cheap” when it came to my business model! I did not remember the dreams, the promises from God for me life. I thought He wanted me to stop dream and just start doing for others.

How wrong I was!

This caused my business to go stale in so many ways!

In creating systems of success, you have to consider how you are wired. Not everyone is wired in the same way. Let me give you an example.

On September 23, 2010 I was told I had diabetes. While sitting in my hospital room on my baby’s 7^th birthday I awaiting the diagnosis, I already knew what the doctor was going to say to me. I was not shocked at all because my father was a diabetic as are both of his siblings. However, I kept hearing, “You don’t have diabetes. You have an insulin resistance issue.”

I ignored and let this doctor who has never seen before I had been admitted to the hospital give me a prescription before releasing me to finally go home after a 2 day stay in the cardiology ward. I went right to WalMart got my medicine and preceded to take it. That medicine made me feel absolutely horrible. Days went by and I would feel ok some; but bad most.

“Isn’t this stuff working?” I would often say.

I made the appointment with my regular physician all the time hearing in my head that I did not have diabetes; but I did have an insulin resistance issue.  When I went to see her she questioned me and the first thing she ask me was what time of day was I admitted to the hospital and what times they took my blood glucose levels. I told her both were after 8pm in the evening. She asked me if they ever tested me in the morning again for diabetes or did they just give me the diagnoses. I told her they just gave me the diagnosis.  She went on to explain the importance of a fasting glucose number and told me she will not allow them to give me that diagnosis until she checked herself because my numbers we pretty normal for that day  even after eating. She said my body may not like the meds because it is not in a condition to receive them.

Why?

Simple! My body was not wired to take it in. I did not have diabetes. My condition can be taken care of without insulin or medication. I needed to get my butt in shape, eat like I knew how to eat, and take better care of me. Since taking her advice and getting it all right (well I still have ways to go but you get the point), I do not have the daily headaches, talking stomach, dizziness, and other symptoms of a person headed the way of being diabetic. I have way more good days than bad all because I took the time to truly learn how my body is wired thanks to my doctor.

As you move forward in creating your systems of success consider how you are wired and why. Spark those wires and work with them instead of against them. Have you ever tried to drive a car that needed tune up? Or had fuse issues?

Either can cause your car’s wiring system to go nuts if not properly cared for.

Take inventory of your inner wiring system and what causes them to get a spark that will last.

What is balance? How does it look for the work at home woman? Is balance achievable for the work at home woman?

Today I walked! I know you that are probably scratching you head and wondering, “What? We walk everyday LaTara!”

You are right we do walk everyday but do we walk with purpose. You see far too many of God’s children walk around aimless; with nothing to strive for except the vanity in life. Vanity goes nowhere and sadly because many of us  are born into this state due to sin, many stay right on vanity’s path, seeking success through a lens that reads of the world’s  ways; missing the message of true abundant life in Christ.

I have been there and I am sure if you are reading this then you have been, or might be right in the midst of a haphazard vain existence.  You might be walking around wondering why you are not succeeding; considering what is missing; looking to God  for answers,  yet  missing your chance to go in deep and see the real you.

Trust me I get it. It is hard to admit that you are not on the road you were meant to be. But imagine what would happen if you took the time to sink your mindset into the fact that your life has purpose and that your Creator, our Father, designed you to thrive!

What would that do to your life? Would you walk in it? Or run the other way; continuing to simply survive?

The Word is full of truth; and the truth is that He, Yahweh, your provider, has it all planned out for you!

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. (Jeremiah 29:11)

When you consider that fact that just like the Israelites God is speaking to in this passage of scripture, you know that because of Who He is; He has the same for you too. You have a sure destiny and purpose.

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. (Psalm 135: 13-14)

When He created you in your mother’s womb, he wrote your story. You were meant to live with purpose.

Take a look at your life and ask yourself if you are truly walking the path set for you.

We serve a purposeful God; therefore we have to stop living accidentally; as if life happens to us. NO! You happen to LIFE!

It makes no difference what you are going through. Problems, they will be there. Just remember that circumstances do not determine our stance in life. We determine that by how we walk!

God knows the plans He has for us. When we wake up each with purpose on our minds then we can walk through doors of opportunity. Everything we need for each step on our path has already been placed where it needs to be. Your job is to see the purpose before you, step into the vision, and walk out your calling!

Success Solution Activity:

Take stock of how you walk each day. Keep a journal for one week and in the morning write down your intentions for the day. Remember to be purposeful in your intent as you do. If you have no idea why you are hear, gain come clarity, so that you are walking right.

Each night before you go to bed, open your journal and consider if your intentions were met. If they weren’t determine why and seek a remedy to the reason why.

After the week if up, you will know for sure if life is happening to you or if YOU are happening to life!
